Examinations Department becomes member of the IAEA

The Department of Examinations within the Ministry of Education has become a member of the International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA), the government announced on Tuesday.

According to the statement this meant that the Examinations Department services have been recognized as “being of a high standard and corporate, particularly in the administration of public and national examinations”.

The government explained that the affiliation must be renewed on an annual basis.

The IAEA is an international association with an aim of promoting work in educational assessment at an international. The association was formed after a conference in New Jersey in 1974.

There around 160 members affiliated with the association including individual experts as well as primary and affiliate organisations.
