Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

On Wednesday afternoon the government issued a legal notice to announce that event organisers who are caught breaching social distancing measures will be fined for every breach.

According to the legal notice the fine imposed will be €3,000 for each and every breach.

Last week Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne announced health and safety directives regarding social distancing during events are to be implemented; no more than one person per every 4 square meters and groups must not be more than 10 people. These 10 people must stick together without mixing with others.

Fearne had also announced that the responsibility for enforcing these directives falls on the organisers.

The government announced these measures in response to the sudden increase in coronavirus cases after a number of mass events were organised.
