European Citizen’s Prize 2020 – call for applications or nominations

The European Parliament has opened a call for those interested in applying for the European Citizen’s Prize 2020. The call is also open for those who would like to nominate somebody else for exceptional projects they have carried out.

Eligible for this call are national, cross-border and pan-European projects that promote closer integration and cooperation. Other eligible projects include those that uphold the values enshrined in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, namely: dignity, equality, solidarity, justice, citizen rights and freedoms.

In the past, there were winning projects that dealt with other themes such as social care and integration, education, inter-cultural dialogue, art and culture, environmental protection and historical memory.

The submission date for applying or nominating someone else for the Prize is 20 April 2020 at midnight Brussels time. Apply or nominate here. For the rules of the European Citizen’s Prize click here.

The winners will be announced in July 2020 and invited to the award ceremony in November 2020 in the European Parliament.
