Euro area annual inflation expected to increase – Eurostat

In June 2020, Euro area annual inflation is expected to be 0.3% up from 0.1% in May.

This is according to a flash estimate from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.

When reviewing the main components of euro area inflation, the section of food, alcohol and tobacco is expected to have the highest annual rate in June. This will show a rate of 3.1%, compared with 3.4% in May. This is followed by services with 1.2% compared with 1.3% in May.

Non-energy industrial goods is expected to show a 0.2% inflation, which is stable compared with May. However, the energy sector is expected to show a -9.4%, compared with 11.9% in May.
