A total 217.3 Gigawatt hours (GWh) of renewable energy were estimated to have been harvested from grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems in 2019 – an increase of 14.6% on the previous year, the National Statistics Office said.
In a statement, the NSO said the stock of PV installations amounted to 27,454 of which 84.8% were installed in Malta, 15.2% in Gozo and Comino.
During 2019, the harvesting of renewable energy from grid-connected PV systems was estimated at 217.3 GWh, an increase of 14.6 per cent on the previous year, the NSO said today.
The stock of PV installations amounted to 27,454 of which 84.8 per cent were installed in the region of Malta and 15.2 per cent were in the Gozo and Comino region. The Northern Harbour and Western districts accounted for 37.6 per cent of the total stock of PV installations with 5,307 and 5,002 installations respectively.
