Egrant: “Cardona, Mizzi and Scicluna have access”

Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

A heated argument characterised the parliamentary session on Wednesday afternoon. The reason for the quabble was the publication of the full Egrant report.

Partit Nazzjonalista (PN) MP Jason Azzopardi asked Minister for Justice Owen Bonnici on why do Minister Chris Cardona, Minister Konrad Mizzi, and Minister Edward Scicluna each have a full copy of the much contested report.

Azzopardi said that these ministers have quoted part of the report that were not made public in Court. From his end Minister Bonnici appealed to the Opposition to allow the judiciary to work in serenity. He also added that the Courts have already denied the request of the leader of the Opposition to receive a full copy of the Egrant report.

Jason Azzopardi kept insisting on a reply to the supplementary question that he had made in front of Minister Scicluna . The Speaker of teh House Anġlu Farrugia said that Azzopardi cannot keep repeating the same question. Minister Bonnici then said that the lawyers that are party to the case have access to the acts and therefore the MPs may access such through their lawyers. He also asked again for caution and respect so that the rule of law can be applied.
