Eggs contaminated with salmonella; a fresh outbreak in Gozo

The Environmental Health Directorate are advising the public not to consume any eggs directly originating from a farm in Gozo, found in Triq Santa Domenika in Victoria Gozo, with license number PLG 016.

This is due to the risk of salmonella contaminated eggs. This sampling for salmonella was undertaken as part of the Veterinary National Control programme for salmonella.

The authorities have directed the producer to stop placing eggs on the market produced in his farm. Furthermore, all the eggs produced from the 13th July onwards are being recalled.

A few days ago, there was a similar case linked to eggs being produced by St Joseph Farm-M Xerri.
