EC admonishes Government about Energy Efficiency Directive

Light bulb, in a hand

The European Commission (EC) has stated that Malta has failed to implement a correct transposition, as well as certain requirements, as stated in the Energy Efficiency Directive. EC has issued a Letter of Formal Notice to say this.

This directive establishes a number of measures to be implemented which promote energy efficiency in the European Union (EU). Malta has two months to respond to this Letter of Formal Notice.

The Ministry for Energy have taken note of the points made in the letter, and agreed that this directive should be implemented as directed by the EU. They said that they will be updating the EC on progress made in regards to these directives.
