Today saw the commencement of the early voting for the new Nationalist Party leader. Incumbent leader Adrian Delia and lawyer Bernard Grech were the only candidates to express interest in the Partit Nazzjonalista leadership race.
The Electoral Commission thanked all those who worked in this process in order to organize this election in a short time.
It also recalled that voting started today and will continue tomorrow Saturday, September 26th, then reopening on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. At the close of voting, the counting process begins.
Members are reminded that in order to speed up the voting process they are encouraged to take with them the voting letter sent to them and must also have with them either their identity card or driving license. The temperature of each person will be taken upon entry, and a face-mask is mandatory. Voters can take their own pencil or pen to mark the ballot paper.
A total of 21,499 paid-up members of the Nationalist Party have been deemed eligible to vote in the party’s leadership election.
