The Union for Professional Educators said in a statement that it comes to no surprise the news that from now on Learning Support Educators will have to start paying for the 10-week course, which  was previously subsidised by the Government.

UPE said this sensitive profession is forgotten by both the Government and the MUT. In the same statement the UPE said they are deeply disappointed and claimed that due to the lack of LSEs, the Ministry of Education should continue to fund these courses so that the number of professionals in this area would not be shrunk.
