The establishment of a digital portal that allows citizens and companies to access important information and administrative procedures online has been approved. This portal has been approved by the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO).
This portal will be integrated with your Europe portal and it will be available in all languages.
Marlene Mizzi, from the political group within the European Parliament , Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D), who led this legislation in Parliament said that “These services important when people are looking into living or studying in another EU country and require relevant documentation, such as their birth certificate or proof of residence, or to apply for university studies financement, amongst others.”
The “one time” principle and data protection
The “one time” principle is aimed at ensuring that citizens and businesses are asked once to give information to public administration. This information can then be used in other procedures, if the user decides to do this.
