DIER will close Valletta office; will offer services by e-mail or calls

The department is currently replying to 1,000 e-mails and 300 calls a day

Government announced that as from Wednesday, the Department of Industrial Relations offices in Valletta will be closed as a measure to reduce contact due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a press statement, Minister Carmelo Abela said that the department will continue to offer its services through telephone and e-mails.

Abela said that the department is currently replying to 1,000 e-mails and 300 calls a day. All queries are related to coronavirus and employment. 16 employees are handling the queries by employers and employees.

Minister Carmelo Abela said that the public can contact the department of industrial relation on two helplines; employees who have queries can call on1575 and employers on 1576. One can also send an e-mail on ‪info.dier@gov.mt.
