Delia: should he stay or should he go?

Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

Following a vote of no confidence by almost two thirds of the PN Parliamentary Group should Adrian Delia, leader of the PN, leave or stay? This question has dominated all conversations in the past couple of days.

It will also be discussed during Newsbook Hour, the Saturday 9:00am programme on 103 Malta’s Heart and

The issue is a very controversial one and the discussion on 103 and will similarly be controversial. The guests of the programme’s host Fr Joe Borg will be Dr Joe Grech and Dr Samuel Azzopardi. Though distant relates, the two activists within the PN will take diametrically opposed positions. Grech will insist that Delia must go while Azzopardi will put forward the case why Delia should stay on.

The questions that will be discussed include:

  • Is it reasonable to expect that the Leader of the PN should not also be the Leader of the Opposition?
  • Has the President the right to dismiss Delia and appoint a new Leader of the Opposition?
  • Is Delia electeble?
  • Is the choice of Therese Comodini Cachia a good choice?
  • Will the PN be split in two?
