Degiorgio brothers seek to block Melvin Theuma’s testimony

Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

The Degiorgio brothers are seeking to block the testimony of ‘middleman’ Melvin Theuma, initially scheduled to take place on Friday. The Degiorgios stand accused of planting the bomb that killed Daphne Caruana Galizia. According to media reports, the Degiorgios  filed an urgent application in court minutes before the scheduled hearing. Newsbook.com.mt is informed that the location of the hearing is being kept under wraps as the safety of Theuma has become a major concern for the police.

Media reports said that the judicial act attempting to block the testimony was filed before the Criminal Court who had upheld a request by the Attorney General to allow the “new witness” to testify in the murder compilation.

The Times of Malta reported that records of the case had already been transferred to the Criminal Court, presided over by Madam Justice Edwina Grima, which was at the stage of hearing preliminary pleas to the bill of indictment, ahead of the actual trial.
