The Gzira opticians have reduced their opening hours in their outlet (The Strand, Gzira) as follows: Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm and Saturdays from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. They are asking customers to respect their rules: not more than two customers in the shop at one go, everyone needs to use the sanitizer as soon as they enter, wear gloves if they wish and keep the mandatory distance away from the employees. They still have some eye clinics operating. All equipment is disinfected after each patient and only one person is allowed in the waiting area. A spokesperson said, “Our laboratory is functioning normally and we may offer our one hour service. So if anyone needs a new pair of specs we can get them done for them. We may also do all repair jobs.”
Mdina Glass have a 50% sale on selected handmade glassware (these items are only available while stocks last). Although the shops are closed, you may shop online. They are also offering a discount of 20% on any other products not already discounted. This can be availed by using the code TWENTY_OFF_GLASS at checkout. For customers in Gozo, they offer delivery to Gozo addresses directly for a fee. A spokesperson said, “During this time where social distancing is called for, we are making sure our online orders are processed and delivered as quickly as possible. Online shopping, which has been something of a convenience up to now, has become more of a necessity.”
As one of the safety measures for protecting customers and drivers, they are offering private rides at the same price as ride-pooling. “The car will be only for you, not shared with other riders”, they said.
