An number of local companies are offering deals online. From mouth-blown glass to designer specs; from wine to locally-published books; from make up to transport, here are some deals and offers that may help put a smile on your face during these times.

O’hea Opticians

The Gzira opticians have reduced their opening hours in their outlet (The Strand, Gzira) as follows: Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm and Saturdays from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. They are asking customers to respect their rules: not more than two customers in the shop at one go, everyone needs to use the sanitizer as soon as they enter, wear gloves if they wish and keep the mandatory distance away from the employees. They still have some eye clinics operating. All equipment is disinfected after each patient and only one person is allowed in the waiting area. A spokesperson said, “Our laboratory is functioning normally and we may offer our one hour service. So if anyone needs a new pair of specs we can get them done for them. We may also do all repair jobs.”

Mdina Glass

Mdina Glass have a 50% sale on selected handmade glassware (these items are only available while stocks last). Although the shops are closed, you may shop online. They are also offering a discount of 20% on any other products not already discounted. This can be availed by using the code TWENTY_OFF_GLASS at checkout. For customers in Gozo, they offer delivery to Gozo addresses directly for a fee. A spokesperson said, “During this time where social distancing is called for, we are making sure our online orders are processed and delivered as quickly as possible. Online shopping, which has been something of a convenience up to now, has become more of a necessity.”

Cool Ride-Pooling

As one of the safety measures for protecting customers and drivers, they are offering private rides at the same price as ride-pooling. “The car will be only for you, not shared with other riders”, they said. The Master Cellar

The Master Cellar recently officially launched its online shop which offers free delivery over €30. A spokesperson said, “Buying your premium wine and spirits has never been easier, just a button click away – and then it is directly delivered to your house.” In the meantime, Marsovin is offering free delivery when you spend €50.

Merlin Publishers

Merlin are offering 25% discount on all their titles via their website with free postage to any address in Malta or Gozo. A spokesperson said, “In these unprecedented times, reading is even more soothing to the soul and a temporary refuge from the madness and uncertainty around us. We cannot travel physically, so let’s travel with stories. And for those of us with kids at home, what better time to catch up on some reading, especially in Maltese? That’s why we’ve committed to strengthen our online offering of the best in Maltese publishing, making sure customers stay safely home while we send the books to them.”

Lucy: Make Up Store

Any client can send a message on Lucy’s Facebook page with any products that they want from the store and they are offering a next day delivery. They offer free delivery with any purchases over €40, otherwise its €5 per delivery. They have also launched beauty boxes, where one can buy a box with ready made products inside from their website. This also comes with free delivery. A spokesperson said, “Lucy is here to help you get through your quarantine days! Make the most of this quite time and pamper yourself and your skin. We all deserve some love.”
