Thake submits his nomination for Busuttil’s old seat

Former radio presenter David Thake has submitted his nomination for the casual election to fill the vacated seat by former Opposition and Partit Nazzjonalista leader Simon Busuttil.

The nomination was received on Thursday.

In total two nominations were received, that of Sam Abela and David Thake.

Thake who has been a long time activist and served as deputy mayor on St Paul’s Bay local council, had resigned from his post saying that the party no longer represented him given his views on Partit Nazzjonalista leader Adrian Delia.

Sam Abela has also submitted his nomination for the casual election on the twelfth district.

The Electoral Commission also announced that Charles Selvaggi and Graziella Attard Previ have submitted their nominations in a bid to fill the seat vacated by MP Marthese Portelli on the ninth district.

Nominations close on Saturday. The casual election will be held on Tuesday.
