Date for the 2020 National Book Prize Ceremony announced

The National Book Council has announced that the 2020 National Book Prize awards ceremony will be streamed on their Facebook page and website on the 18th December at 7.00 pm. The awards ceremony is being held entirely online for the very first time and we are therefore extending our invitation to the public to join us for the announcement of the best books published locally in 2019.

The National Book Prize is awarded in a number of different categories, including novels, short-stories and poetry, as well as books of general and biographical and historiographic research. In the meantime you can visit this link to see all the shortlisted titles for this year’s prize.

The council would also like to take this opportunity to encourage the public to keep reading and purchasing shortlisted Maltese publications and more from the online shops of local publishers.

More information regarding where you can find local publications for sale online can be found here.

The National Book Prize Ceremony will also be streamed on the Newsbook.com.mt and Newsbook Lifestyle Facebook pages.
