Partit Demokratiku claimed that Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has proved evasive on why he has refused the assistance offered by the American embassy to solve the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
In a statement on Sunday, Partit Demokratiku said it had noted that after much hesitation, Muscat has proved evasive and failed to offer credible excuses for refusing help in the investigation.
Muscat was challenged to take up the offer put forward.
‘Justice must be done, and must be seen to be done,’ the party added, explaining that as of yet, there was not much on this aspect in the public.
“It is crucial that the US offer of help is accepted,” PD concluded.
“We are still waiting for answers,” Opposition MP Simon Busuttil said in a Facebook post. He asked why the government stop FBI assistance after the first three arrests in Daphne’s murder investigation, asking whether the government would like to see this investigation solved.
