Daphne’s murder: Magistrate Neville Camilleri to conduct inquiry

Magistrate Neville Camilleri will be leading the inquiry into the assassination of slain journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia after Magistrate Anthony Vella will be appointed as Judge according to reports in local media.

Camilleri took his appointment as Magistrate in 2011.

The Government requested the President of Malta to appoint three new Judges and three Magistrates who have all been approved by the Committee on the appointment of judges.

The three new Judges are the Senior Magistrate Dr. Anthony J. Vella, Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera, and Magistrate Grazio Mercieca.

Earlier this month, Reporters Without Borders said that the Magistrate Vella must change, said it cast doubt on the authorities.
