Daphne, Busuttil, Casa and Efimova referred to as “crooks”

An anonymous group has labelled Simon Busuttil, Daphne Caruana Galizia, David Casa and Maria Efimova as ‘Crooks’ in a series of posters put up around Malta. These individuals all received negative criticism following the publication of the Egrant inquiry report.

This mirrors the activities that anti-corruption activists organise every month on the date of the assassination of internationally-acclaimed journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

This word has become synonymous with slain journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, as her last sentence in the journalistic blog ‘Running Commentary’ before being assassinated was “There are crooks everywhere you look now. The situation is desperate”.

The posters were placed in Marsa and on Daphne’s memorial in Valletta.
