Customs Enforcement Officials have seized 477 bottles of alcoholic beverages which were discovered not to have the required excise banderols.

In a press release, the Customs Department explained that the bottles were discovered during a routine check in an Msida supermarket and its stores.

The Customs enforcement section has been clamping down on the sale of beverages and spirits not bearing any excise tags. This is being done in an effort to hamper contraband operations and collect the taxes owed which is being charged to the consumer.
