Customs complex gets disinfected

The groupage complex at the Malta Customs in Ħal Far has been disinfected and fumigated as part of the unceasing efforts by the authorities to limit the spread of Covid-19.

This was announced in the daily coronavirus bulletin issued by the Government.

This disinfection and fumigation exercise was carried out by employees of for Civil Protection Department, who donned protective gear specifically-intended for such occasions, and specialized equipment.

Afterwards, Public Cleansing employees made sure to clean the warehouses – 26 bonds in all. Similar cleaning has been carried out at the Newport Bonded Stores, and Mifsud Verandahs in Marsa, where 52 Customs warehouses are situated.

43 persons were each fined €100 during the continuous rounds Police are conducting to ensure that no gatherings involving more than 3 persons take place in public places. In the meantime, no one was found breaching quarantine during any of the 818 inspections carried out in the last 24 hours.

The Government reiterated its appeal to be responsible and cooperate with the directives issued by the authorities.
