Critically injured following argument in St. Paul’s Bay

A 36-year old man from Libya is in critical condition following an argument in St. Paul’s Bay.

A statement from the Police explained that they came to know that their assistance was required at around 3pm. The argument occurred in Triq il-Kaħli, St. Paul’s Bay.

Indications point towards the victim having intervened in an argument between two drivers in this same street. Allegedly, the victim was attacked with a sharp and pointy weapon, and the aggressor then ran away. Police scanned the area, and found a person near the Mosta Church who matched the given descriptions. A 29-year old Nigerian man was thus arrested, and is being questioned about the incident.

One of the drivers is being questioned by the Police, and the other driver has not suffered any injuries.

The District Police and the RIU went on site to find the victim seriously injured, and a medical team and ambulance were called on site. The victim was taken to Mater Dei Hospital and later certified to be in critical condition. Investigations are ongoing.
