Creditreform rates Malta with an A+

The renowned German credit rating agency Creditreform has affirmed Malta’s rating at ‘A+’ .

Creditreform also views “Malta’s healthy and improving public finances as a key credit strength.” It also stated that the rating reflects the prudent budget execution underpinned by the steady improving headline balance and the government’s commitment to run surpluses.

Malta outperformed most A-rated peers when it comes to the perception of the extent to which public power is exercised for private gain, and the quality of contract enforcement, property rights and courts.

In a press release, Finance Minister Edward Scicluna said that he is pleased of yet another excellent rating.
