“COVID-19 almost killed me; It’s not the time to be selfish” – Matthias Kentzia

Matthias Kentzia, a Maltese who lives in Spain has posted on Facebook to expose the cruel reality of coronavirus through his experience as he has contracted the virus.

Kentzia, 27, said that coronavirus almost killed him.

“I’ve just come home from 2 weeks of lying in a Spanish hospital bed, battling the novel coronavirus and bilateral pneumonia it caused.”- said Matthias.

He continued explaining that he lead a healthy lifestyle and have no pre-existing conditions but when he contracted the virus it nearly paralyzed him with fever and needed 24/7 oxygen support.

Matthias said that the reason he wrote on Facebook is to attract attention to the severity of coronavirus. He said that no one is invincible when faced with coronavirus.

He stated that this not the time for anyone to be selfish and has desperately appealed to everyone to listen to health professionals and stay home, isolate and wash hands frequently as this is the best way to avoid the spread of COVID-19 which means reducing the load on the hospitals and health professionals and ultimately to save lives.
