A court has provisionally upheld a warrant of prohibitory injunction preventing the closure of the Paloma Hotel, where 80 migrants are currently living.
A sealed order which had originally been issued by the Director of Health, had been challenged by someone appearing in the name of the site owner.
Speaking to Newsbook.com.mt, one of the residents of the building witnessed the police storm the building. Another explained how he had been inside when the police broke down the door. They added that once they entered, they asked residents to see their documents. These were all collected by the police.
It has not been determined whether the police were in possession of a search warrant.
