Inbound passengers urged to speak to airport staff prior to screening

Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

Inbound passengers have observed that upon landing in Malta they will first stop before Immigration officials which means that prior to their screening they would have already made contact with airport staff.

Passengers speaking to Newsbook.com.mt said that the first thing one notices is a pop up banner saying Stop Novel Coronavirus. The same banner instructs passengers who have traveled to China over the past fourteen days to contact immediately Immigration Officials or the Airport Authorities.

Thermal screening of inbound passengers at Malta International Airport was announced on Saturday, by the government. All inbound passengers will be scanned by thermal imaging cameras in an effort to prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country. The thermal imaging cameras will be installed at all points of entry. Any persons who are identified as having a fever will be assessed further, the government said.

Meanwhile the Central Procurement and Supplies Unit shared a video on Facebook.

Inbound passengers arriving on Malta on board cruiseliners or the catamaran will also be screened.

A help line was set up for those who have inquiries about the virus. Any one can call on 21324086.
