Coronavirus: All arrivals at MIA will be screened

The screening will also be implemented in cruise liner and catamaran terminals

Government announced that as from this week, thermal screening cameras will be installed at the Malta International Airport, whereby all inbound passengers will be screened for possible cases of coronavirus. This will also be implemented in cruise liner and catamaran terminals.

In a press statement, the government said is taking this measure in view of the latest situation in Italy.

Thermal screening is a mode of screening for a large number of people passing through points of entry. Any persons who will be identified as having a fever will be assessed further. 

The Ministry for Health sais that Maltese health authorities are implementing all the necessary preparedness and response actions required for the outbreak of COVID-19.
