Coronavirus: 20 new cases and 2 recoveries

The Ministry for Health confirmed 20 new coronavirus cases which were detected in the past 24 hours and two patients recovered.

5 of the 20 new cases are from the Paceville cluster, 4 related to previously positive cases, the rest are sporadic.

Yesterday, 16 out of the 78 asylum seekers who were rescued and admitted to Malta yesterday tested positive for COVID-19. This was also confirmed by the Ministry for Health.

The group was immediately quarantined and tested for COVID-19 once they disembarked.

The Ministry explained that those who tested positive will continue to be isolated at the Ħal Far Initial Reception Centre, while the rest will remain in quarantine and followed up.
