Compilation of evidence on Lassana Cisse murder continues

Magistrate Ian Farrugia will preside court today where the hearing of the compilation of evidence against two men accused of the murder of Souleyman Lassana Cisse will continue. The 42-year-old was murdered on the road leading to the Ħal-Far open Centre in what is being described as a racially motivated killing.

Lorin Scicluna 22, and Francesco Fenech 21 stand accused also of a further attempted murder after having allegedly shot at two black men in the same road. The two men survived their wounds. The accused are assisted by lawyers Franco Debono, Kris Busietta, Julian Farrugia, Giannella DeMarco and Stephen Tonna Lowell.

The sitting today saw the deposition of documents relating to the hospital discharge of a 17 year old male who had been treated for a hematoma in his forehead and fractures to his left shoulder. The accused in the murder case are also accused of a hit-and-run on this man. Meanwhile, a vehicle expert appointed by court presented a document detailing the condition of the car with which the criminal act was accomplished.
