Informed sources have told Newsbook.com.mt that the Secretariat for Catholic Education has acceded to a request that the Church schools open at par with those in the government sector. This means that Church schools will be opening between the 7th and the 14th October and by the latter date, all children will be back to school.
From the information received, Newsbook.com.mt was informed that the teaching staff will be expected to return to school at the dates which each school had set out. During the period between their return and the 7th October, the teaching staff is expected to familiarise itself with the protocols and measures required in the circumstances and to continue preparing for the forthcoming scholastic year. Each school is expected to formulate a plan on the way the children’s return to school will be staggered.
Update: Meanwhile a statement issued by the Secretariat for Catholic Education confirmed the information published by Newsbook.com.mt. It added that “Online teaching and learning is not permitted up to the 6th October. This is in conformity with the direction issued by the Ministry for Education and Employment and the MUT”
