Christmas variety show at the Aurora

The Aurora Opera House presents its seasonal favourite ‘The Leone Grand Christmas Show’ on the Sunday before Christmas, 23rd December 2018 at 4.00pm, featuring its very own Leone Band, conducted by Colin Attard, with a host of local performers.

The Leone Band reopens wide the door of its home, the beloved Aurora Theatre, for yet another fun-filled edition of its signature Christmas variety show. A cross between a musical concert, talent exposé and a game show, the 90-minute event is the perfect occasion to kick-off the most special and dear of festive long-weekends in the year in style and merriment.

In a drive to maintain innovation and interest, this year’s grand Christmas variety at the Aurora takes on the form of a game show with live music and dance. The ever-entertaining Colin Attard conducts the Leone Band that sets the tone of the spectacle.

The matinee will then be dotted by other talent shows of song and dance, including the Aurora’s own junior choir as well as Gozitan singers en route the X Factor dream, Sarah Bonnici and Denise Mercieca. Young dancers from Dance Narratives and the Centre Stage Dance Academy should bring more colour to the show with classical ballet and contemporary dance numbers. In total, around 100 young people and children are expected to participate.

The Aurora Opera House, together with the administration of the Leone Philharmonic Society is delighted to welcome all loyal patrons, friends and supporters as this may constitute an ideal occasion for one and all to exchange good wishes for the Christmas season in true theatre style.
