Check from where you can collect your diabetes sticks

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne announced that diabetes sticks can be collected from more locations, since Bahrija, Dingli, Fgura, Mġarr, Mtarfa and Venera were included in the list.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that from May, 10 localities  provided this service and is currently doing the necessary work so that 22 other location join the existing list. Vittoriosa, Cospicua, Bugibba, Ghaxaq, Gozo, Zebbug, Senglea, Kalkara, Marsascala, Marsaxlokk, Mellieha, Pieta, Qawra, Qormi, Victoria, St. Paul’s Bay, Siggiewi, Xghajra, Zabbar, Zejtun, Mdina and St. Julian’s will be included in the list.

Minister Chris Fearne said that each year, around 16 million diabetic sticks are distributed to around 30,000 people in our country, with the cost of about one million euros.

Frances Zammit Dimech urged authorities to better distribute diabetic needles for children’s use.
