The Partit Demokratiku has urged Infrastructure Malta to rethink its plans for the Central Link Project once again and start accommodating personal mobility, as the current plans seem to only accommodate cars.

In their statement, the PD also said that the Planning Authority will have two options for the future of the Central Link Project which will be discussed on Monday. Either keep the forwarded plans and make the principal streets liveable, or opt for an elevated bypass that does not disturb the current eco-system and pollute residential areas.

The also stated that the current plan falls short on various other fronts as there is lacking consideration for the loss of prime natural resources, a pedestrian subway crossing, and continuous cyclist lanes.
