On Christmas Day, Caritas distributed food and goods so that a household could have a meal. The now annual event, “Christmas Meal” this year, had a different format due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Following on His Holiness Pope Francis message, the Church in Malta did its part. Throughout the day Caritas, were distributing food to the most in need.

Thanks to the help of different volunteers from various Church organisations and parishes. People who are homebound, had the package delivered at home.

The meal was prepared by the Alf Mizzi Foundation, who has been supporting the initiative annually.

Moreover, this year telephone lines were set-up so that those who feel alone could call and talk to someone.
