Deputy Labour Party leader Chris Cardona will do nothing that might hurt the Labour Party, stated Prime Minister Robert Abela, as the media as the Prime Minister if he thinks Cardona should resign from the party in view of the Court proceedings earlier this week on the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Prime Minister Robert Abela said that he knows well Chris Cardona and he is sure that any decision taken by Cardona will be in the best interest of the party.
On Monday, it emerged in court, that Chris Cardona is under investigation by the police in connection with the murder of investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
In his testimony during the compilation of evidence against Yorgen Fenech, accused of complicity in the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, pardoned middle man Melvin Theuma also mentioned former Deputy Commissioner Silvio Valletta and ex-chief of staff Keith Schembri.
Following these allegations, the Civil Society Network called for the resignation of Chris Cardona from his position as Deputy Leader of the Labour Party.
