The police found cannabis in three vehicles which were stopped during a police checkpoint in the early hours of Saturday morning in Ħaż-Żabbar.

In a statement, the police explained that motorists were stopped during the night after the police noted several irregularities.

Cannabis was found in three separate vehicles being driven by a 28-year-old woman from Ħaż-Żabbar, a 25-year-old man from iż-Żejtun and an 18-year-old man from Ħaż-Żabbar. The 18-year-old driver who had a 19-year-old passenger in the car, was also caught driving without a licence. A search of the car yielded cocaine from the third vehicle.
