Partit Nazzjonalista said that businesses are feeling the brunt of less purchasing power in a statement on Thursday.

Shadow spokesperson for small enterprises, Edwin Vassallo, said that the business owners have felt the reduction in purchasing power. According to Vassallo, those working in construction, self-employed or own a small enterprise have noticed that they are making less profit.

He explained that among them are masons who are complaining of having less work over the past weeks. Others have complained due to the recent hike in fuel prices.

Vassallo observed that the property market has slow down, and this has created problems to those who need to sell their property in order to be able to make payments.
