A Bulgarian journalist was assassinated in Ruse on Saturday. Victoria Marinova was a 30-year-old editor for the Bulgarian tv station bTV was found dead at around 2.30pm.
Her naked body was found near to some bushes on the shores of the river Danube. The Bulgarian police said that the woman was raped and tortured before she was choked to death. Marinova was contributing to a newspaper that was investigating corruption.
The journalist’s Facebook page is flooded with messages from her fans. Russian police are also investigating whether her murder is connected with her work.
This is the third journalist have been killed in the European Union after Daphne Caruana Galizia and Jan Kuciak.
