According to the Minister for Finance Edward Scicluna, every proposal in the 2020 Budget, which will be announced tomorrow, revolves around the aim of creating national wealth and distributing accordingly to all sectors of society.

On a Facebook video posted by the Ministry for Finance, Scicluna emphasized that the goal of the budget is inclusivity. Scicluna mentioned how an app was created to simplify the method where the public is able to submit proposals after the pre-budget document was published a few months ago.

Scicluna added that as will be seen in tomorrow’s budget, Government will not spend excess expenditure where it is not necessary.

In the past months, the Minister met with several Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries in order to discuss proposals. He also discussed ideas with businessmen and entrepreneurs, together with organising meeting for the Maltese and Gozitan citizens.

Today, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat announced that pensions will be increasing. However, he did not specify by how much.
