General Practitioners, GPs, in England have been told to be ready to start giving the vaccine against COVID-19 by 14 December.
A letter has been sent to all surgeries and primary care leads from NHS England and NHS Improvement says that the coronavirus vaccination programme will begin at dozens of hospital hubs next week. The NHS said that this would be one of the greatest challenges it has ever faced.
On Wednesday it was reported that Britain will start vaccinating people against COVID-19 with the Pfizer vaccine next week after the country’s regulator approved the jab.
Britain became the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for use and said that it will be rolled out from next week.
