BOV internet problems affect online and mobile banking; card payments

Bank of Valletta currently have problems with internet connectivity affecting its electronic services including internet banking, mobile banking, and payment using cards.

In a statement, the Bank said that it is working to solve these technical problems in the shortest possible time.

Clients who need urgent service are being asked to call their Branch or to contact the Customer Care Centre on 21312020 or customercare@bov.com.

Two weeks ago, the Bank temporarily suspended its operations including closing all of its branches in Malta and Gozo after a cyber attack on its systems. The authorities repeatedly clarified that clients’ accounts were not affected and that there were discrepancies in 11 payments amounting to €13 million.
