An employee at the BOV branch in Ibraġġ was feeling unwell, so the branch has been closed, due to fears of the coronavirus outbreak.
The Bank of Valletta management took the decision to close its operations at its Ibraġġ Branch today after one of its employees was feeling unwell.
A statement by the company says that, “This was done in the best interest of its customers and its staff and the employee in question has been swabbed for COVID-19 and is awaiting results.”
In the meantime, as a precautionary measure, the remainder of the Ibraġġ staff are in quarantine until results are known. The Bank is liaising with the health authorities on a regular basis and shall be taking all the necessary measures in the best interest of customers and staff.
The bank stressed that this is a temporary measure which is affecting operations only at the Ibraġġ Branch.
