A member of staff at the BOV Ħamrun branch has tested positive for coronavirus leading to the temporary closure of the said branch.
In a statement on Friday evening, the bank notified the general public and customers making use of this branch that it will remain closed until further notice.
The branch will be thoroughly sanitised and will reopen once it is ascertained safe to do so for the safety and well-being of customers and staff.
The health authorities will contact those individuals who might have been exposed to the contagion as part of their contact tracing protocol.
The bank said that it will continue to take all the necessary measures in the best interest and safety of customers and staff and is once again encouraging customers to use its wide network of ATMs, BOV Internet Banking, BOV Mobile Banking, BOV Pay and BOV Debit and Credit Cards for their banking and payment needs.
It also reminded customers visiting bank’s premises to follow the necessary precautions such as safe social distancing, proper wearing of masks and sanitising.
The bank apologized for any inconvenience caused to its customers.
On Friday, 75 new coronavirus cases were reported by the health authorities with Superintendent of Public Health Prof. Charmaine Gauci announcing that there are currently nine individuals receiving intensive care including an individual under the age of 40.
