The BOV branch at Gżira has been closed as a precautionary coronavirus mitigation measure until further notice, the bank announced in a brief statement on Thursday evening.
In its statement the bank said that this was being done to ensure the safety and well-being of its customers and staff. The bank did not specify whether a member of its staff has tested positive for coronavirus.
The bank said that customers may still make use of the ATM at the Gżira Brnach or any other BOV ATM across Malta and Gozo for cash and deposit requirements.
The bank encouraged its customers to make use of BOV Internet Banking, BOV Mobile Banking, BOV Pay and BOV Debit and Credit Cards for their banking and payment needs.
40 new coronavirus cases were reported overnight by the health authorities on Thursday. The total number of active cases now stands at 699.
