Birkirkara church temporarily closed due to Covid-19 pandemic

St Francis of Assisi Church in Birkirkara will be temporarily closed as from Thursday after it was hit with mandatory quarantine, Rev. Arthur Cutajar OFM announced on Facebook.

As the number of coronavirus cases registered continues to increase, Malta has registered its highest daily record on Wednesday with 111 cases. On Friday, Superintendent of Public Health Professor Charmaine Gauci said that the daily average was of 60 new cases per day.

A total of 467 new cases were reported between Saturday and Wednesday.
