Tista' taqra bil- Malti.
Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi said that in the present word dominated by social media, one has to be careful with his words. He added that words can be taken out of context very easily.
Mgr. Galea-Curmi said this whilst delivering the homily during a Gruppi Familji Nsara celebration at Dar tal-Providenza in Siġġiewi. He stated that when snippets of a whole conversation gets posted on social media, what reaches people is the wrong piece of news as the whole argument was not put into perspective.
He added that due to such actions they do not have a good experience of the Church, as they do not have the patience to research the truth and therefore become gullible to deceit.
“We have to be positive”
Auxiliary Bishop Galea-Curmi said that all those that have been called to propagate the word of God need to stay positive because they are blessed to deliver what is good and splendid. He also said that one has to be careful not to fall into temptation and get affected by the surrounding environment to start communicating distorted things.
Actions and words should be cohesive
Mgr. Galea-Curmi appealed for everyone to practice what they preach. He added that it is wrong to think that one has a guarantee because he is a Church insider when his heart is distant from God.
God belongs to everyone
The Auxiliary-Bishop insisted on inclusiveness and said that God belongs to everyone. He added that God wants every individual to be close to him irrelevant of race, language or other.
