Bail refused for man accused of kidnapping

A salesman was accused of kidnapping and injuring another man was remanded in custody. The man injured another man he was hosting in his Qormi Garage. The Police found other people in the garage.

The 38-year old who works in sales pleaded not guilty to slightly injuring and threatening another person in the garage found in Triq il-Mejjila.  He was also accused of being in possession of stolen items and aggravated theft.

This was not the first time, the man was charged in court, and he had been granted bail five months ago over separate charges.

His defence counsel argued that the accused was helping out homeless people and that hosting them was not a crime.

However Magistrate Audrey Demicoli turned down his request for bail, and remanded the accused in custody.
