Authorities issue temporary halt to construction work around tourist spots

Key authorities are enforcing a temporary legal notice stopping demolition and excavation works around tourism and holiday spots during the summer.

The enforcement notice (295/07) is being led by the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA), Planning Authority and the Building Regulation Office (BRO) and is understood to be focus on minimising the impact that construction on these areas.

The authorities have published a list of the localities in which these demolition and excavation works will be stopped during the summer period, outlining that this will take place between the 15th June and the 30th September 2019.
