The Diocesan Assembly, which took place on Thursday and Friday, was an opportunity where various representatives of the Christian Maltese community met, along with bishops, and gave their contribution to the Pastoral Plan of the Archdiocese between 2020-2023.
Archbishop Charles Scicluna explained that during these past few days, the Pastoral Plan has been formalized and is almost finalized. Mgr Scicluna stressed that this was made possible thanks to the mutual listening and dialogue that took place in recent days.
The working document of the Pastoral Plan of the Archdiocese of Malta entitled ‘One Church, One Journey – A process of ecclesial discernment 2020-2023’ lists four main priorities for the Church: to listen, to welcome, to accompany and to always go forth without fear in spreading the Good News.
During his pastoral visit to Thailand, the Archbishop referred to the words of Pope Francis, where he invited the Church and all Christians to hold the glance of Jesus close.
This document, inspired by the narrative of the disciples of Emmaus (Lk 24: 13-35), was written after extensive consultation was carried out over the last few months, with several people involved in various work carried out in the Church and in society.
The Archbishop was also interviewed by George Cassar on the radio station ‘103 Malta’s Heart’.
